Mauran Typeface

Mauran is the product of an initial exploration into letterforms and typography. Starting with limited knowledge of letterforms, the design evolved as understanding grew and design decisions became more intentional. The typeface went through many iterations as the semester progressed in an effort to have a final product that exhibits refined craft and cohesion across all forms. In this endeavor many lessons were learned and elements of type were addressed and illuminated that had been easy to look past previously. Mauran represents and is a documentation of this learning process.
